  • Fraud charges on credit cards



    I also ordered the LLC small business forms and was charged a fee of $158.95 and received an email confirmation number for that transaction. Then on my next visa billing statement I see another charge for $159. for a registered agent fee that I never ordered or agreed to pay for. I called Legalzoom and was told that I ordered that service and for it get cancelled I had to send in a form to the Departemnt of Commerce and Consumer Affairs office and pay them a fee to change from their service agent to being my own agent.   • Legal Zoom Horrible Service and Knowledge!



    I filed an LLC with Legal Zoom on Sept.24th and was told it would take 20 days to complete, even less because NY Clerks Office is pretty quick and not overloaded with work. I received my LLC package 40 days later!!! Not only that but the LLC address clearly stated a Brooklyn Address, however, Legal Zoom filled it as NEW YORK county. Brooklyn is KINGS county! Seriously? The sole purpose of hiring a company to file for you is to avoid the headache of filing one on your own.     This review has been resolved or replied to by this company. Legal Zoom made several mistakes that delayed process of registering business with the state by 2 mos. The State sent Legal Zoom letter suggesting postponing registration just 3 weeks (until new yr.) to avoid filing & paying annual fee twice. Owner got the copy of that letter directly from the state; not from Legal Zoom, but only after LZ had registered my business. Legal Zoom would not honor satisfaction guarantee.   • Divorce



    Amazing!! I was in the Army stationed overseas and could not get one lawyer in the states to pick up my divorce case and file the paperwork. I finally went through Legalzoom as a last ditch effort. All I gotta say is that it was fast, easy, and inexpensive!! I was so pleased with the outcome. I filed the paperwork all while being stationed overseas and the only time I had to show up to court was to finalize my divorce.   • They Suck



    I am an attorney and tried using them for incoporating. Well, you do not even get what you pay for with them. Poor service. On hold for chunks of time. Mess things up and wait for you to call them to see wth is the delay. Their adds and testimonials are great. But when the rubber hits the road, they suck beyond belief.     I had Legalzoom prepare an LLC. They misspelled my business name. I had to file amendments to repair it and get all new documentation. But the worst part is they enrolled me with a registered agent that keeps billing me. I was not advised that I could be my own agent. I filed a change with the state no problem. Business was not in good standing for failure to report. Still, National Registered Agents continue to bill me. Not cool.   • Bad Advice



    I called to set up a new medical PA. I was advised on certain documents, but these were not the ones I needed. In addition, I had to call and follow-up on my tax ID because they never did. Then, as I went forward with a new business, an advisor realized the corp. was wrong, so I had to pay an attorney to redo everything. Legalzoom claims no responsibility and refuses any refund.     I was referred to LegalZoom through a friend of a friend. they seemed pretty ok at first, but then what's so difficult about typing up a form that you supply all the info for anyways! the headaches started as soon as I had to get the authorities involved. first LegalZoom gave me an outdated address for service of the corporation I was taking to court. so I had to ask the court to dismiss the case since I got notice back from the sheriff less than 2 weeks before court date. then LegalZoom supplied me with an outdated form for dismissal which the court didn't accept. so I went...   • Actual Price Misleading



    Legalzoom webpage is very misleading. The Premium Package advertised at $359.00 actually cost me over $800.00! They provided no itemized bill and I had to wait unitl Monday to call. Called the CSR the next day for and explaination. Then i got this itemized list and realized there is little to no benefit in chosing their Premium Package. After all, isn't that what professionals are paid to do? They claim I entered New York County but I'm sure I left it blank (This is where they were supposed to do what they get paid to do). Like I said before, the whole point of paying a professional, e.g. Legal Zoom, to file an LLC was to avoid any mistakes in the process! But they're just paid to process. I would not recommend this company. Might as well do it yourself.

Horrible experience. very unorganized, made mistakes on my application as had a person as the contact with the state I did not know; one dept said not work with another dept? Follow up poor. I went with another company next time around with no problems. Legal Zoom was a nightmare to work with!
